Mickey’s Monks
by thoughtsonthedead
Mickey, did you buy more foreigners?
“No, they’re here of their own free will.”
You gonna let them leave?
“Maybe!”
What are you doing with these people?
“Lots. Racing ’em, fighting ’em: anything you can wager on, basically.”
Great.
“They don’t know kung fu.”
Why do you know that?
“Well, Billy swung by, and–”
He punched the foreign monks in their foreign dicks?
“–he punched them all in the dicks, yeah. None of them blocked the punches.”
There you go.
…
…
…
Did you–
“I dosed them.”
–dose them? Of course.
i worked on a benefit for tibet house in the late eights. richard gere got these gyuto chanting monks to play at cathedral of st john the divine in nyc. mickey was there. the monks were all giggles – they’re not around women much.
I like that he color coordinated here. This is actually a nice picture. A little nutty, but nice.
I’m shocked there isn’t a small Stealie on his shirt, though.
Looks like an important occasion. I bet he bought it himself, or had someone buy it, at least. Makes me feel a little better, knowing that some ticket dollars clothed Mickey, instead of going straight into Garcia’s lungs and alimony(s) 😉
Or else there’s a Stealie on the back.
Stealie on the back.
Business on the front, Stealie on the back.
got any thoughts on Paul Kantner?
I’m sure he was a nice guy, but I could never get into Jefferson Airplane. I know nothing about him other than he was in several photos with Garcia.
Still a pretty impressive obit Todd
-nice guy
-was in a several photos with Garcia
May i call you Todd? Jk
I saw the monks at a church once, it was funny before the show one of them was walking down the sidewalk and saw one of those barren trees surround d by concrete and broke a small branch off it, for luck I guess. Nice show it was pretty my mind blowing at one point I’ll never forget they stopped singing closed mouths and the notes combined in the air to make two notes or something, I still don’t understand what happened,it was a magical moment. On another occasion quite a few years before my friend put some of them up at his house where it was reported they found his little toy piano to be endless fun.
