I mean, most of Sabbath’s songs were about cocaine, but this one’s really about cocaine.
Well, the Grateful Dead connection is obscure here. But it’s there. After Bob Weir left Kingfish in mid-1976, the band foolishly signed a deal with Jet Records. Jet was run by the notorious English impresario Don Arden (Small Faces, The Move, Black Sabbath, ELO). This is how Kingfish opened a few shows for ELO in ’77. So Black Sabbath, Ozzy and Kingfish shared a manager.
Someday I will write a post about this, though no one will care. Til then Google Don Arden (yes, His daughter Sharon married Ozzy and sued her own Dad to break the contract).
Small Faces !!!
